Prelude

Hello! For those of you who don't me and even for some of those who do, my name is Jed Meshew and I'm a rising 3rd year law student in Atlanta, Georgia. This summer, with the help of some tremendous people and most specifically due to the urgings and machinations of Ms. Shireen Hormozdi, my friend and boss, I will be embarking on a 2 month long adventure to Bangkok, Thailand to work with multiple human rights organizations to combat human trafficking and the detaining of political prisoners of conscience in Southeast Asia, specifically Vietnam. I plan on using this blog to share my experiences working overseas with as many people as possible to raise awareness to the suffering of a great many good people in the hope that we can, collectively, put an end to these types of injustices. In this blog, I will detail all the work I do week to week, the places I go, the people I talk to, the cases I work on. I hope you enjoy it and if it gets even one person to go out there and actively get involved then I think that's a win. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have such an amazing opportunity in front of me to both broaden my own personal horizons and (hopefully) do some good in this world and I can't wait to get started. I depart on May 30th and I invite you all to come along for the ride. I suspect it'll be a doozy.
